    The "Comeback Gig"

After 20 years, the first note tells you everything you need to know.

On May 8, 2026, Soul Tsunami walked back onto a stage together at Community Beer Company in Dallas.

It had been been a minute.

Long enough that there were plenty of questions before the first downbeat.

Would the groove still be there? Would the horn section still lock in? Would the audience remember us?

As musicians, we spend a lot of time practicing notes. But bands aren't built on notes alone. They're built on trust, shared experiences, inside jokes, and the quiet confidence that comes from knowing the people standing beside you.

    That became obvious almost immediately.

Within a few songs, it stopped feeling like a reunion.

It simply felt like Soul Tsunami.

The audience grew throughout the evening. Folks danced. Friends reconnected. New listeners wandered over from around the brewery and stayed. Three hours passed in what felt like thirty minutes.

For those of us on stage, the biggest surprise wasn't that we could still play the music.

It was how quickly it felt like home again.

Every great band needs a voice. Soul Tsunami is fortunate to have one that can stop conversations, start dance floors, and bring every song to life.

Play that Funy Music — w/a few extra high notes, 'cause: Horn Band.

Rhythm, riffs, vocals, and just the right amount of attitude. TJ gives Soul Tsunami its edge.

Great horn bands are built from the bottom up. Trey is the groove that holds it all together.

I'm just trying to hang in there — Trying not to be the reason we rehearse again.

Every horn section needs a great trombone player. A towering musician. Brian brings warmth, power, and a sound that completes, and leads, the section.

    "When are you playing again?"

Fortunately, we already have the answer.
